Last week was about being aware of your feelings and negative emotions and paying attention to them. So, this week’s motivation is about using your intellect to analyze and figure out why you are having negative emotions, without excuse. Humans are given wonderful intellect to utilize and understand their own minds, which is explained clearly in the Upanishads and the Vedas.
According to Chandogya Upanishad “The will is certainly superior to the mind. When a person wills, he starts thinking. Then he directs the organ of speech, and finally, he makes the organ of speech utter the action”. Live with the intention to move towards achieving a pure mind and, in the meantime, intentionally change your negative thoughts to positive ones.
- Become aware when you are feeling greedy, jealousy, anxiety, or any other negative emotions. Pay attention to your desires.
- Use your intellect to analyze and figure out why, without any excuse
- Use tools such as affirmations, mantras, or others to change from negative to positive thoughts. Meditation and breathing can also be very helpful in this transition.
