All of us need spiritual care one time or another. There is confusion about the difference between religious and spiritual needs. They are both very important to all humans. Spiritual Care helps all with big and small questions of life and how to deal with these questions. It also helps in answering questions during the time of difficulty, such as why and what it means? It gives one comfort and hope in times of need. Above all it gives one purpose in life and sometimes answers come from within in all different ways. Finally, it is about your inner Self and inner Self only.
So, what is Spiritual Care? Spiritual care is NOT therapy or counseling by a mental health professional. It is about providing positive outlook with faith, hope and joy in a person’s life in their challenging times. It is also to increase awareness and help understand the presence of Divine Consciousness in the universe. Spiritual Care Provider is a good listener and is non- judgmental. It is also totally confidential interaction between two people and focuses on moving forward with faith and joy, in most cases. It is about Self Awareness.
